Wesak (Vesak) full moon Celebration 2022

Wesak is the celebration of the Buddha’s enlightenment and the possibility of the awakening of humanity. Wesak is the celebration of the Buddha’s enlightenment and a reminder of the possibility for the awakening of humanity. Wesak falls annually on the scorpio full moon in the month of May with sun in Taurus. It’s a significant energetic opportunity to tune in to a powerful unified meditative energy. Many see it as a possible gateway to awakening from separation. Wesak or Vesak is celebrated globally to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. For many it is the high point of the spiritual year when forces of enlightenment flow from the higher worlds into the mind of humanity. This scorpio full moon in May offers the perfect opportunity for us to tune into and build this awakened, peaceful and balanced energy prior to the coming Australian elections a week later. May those still sleeping in ignorance awaken to live and express and align with peace on earth.

Join Terry Oldfield and Soraya for a magical, musical, ceremony and celebration. We will be offering an afternoon of meditation, chanting and fire ceremony beginning at 1.30pm. Please be on time to celebrate the exact time of the full moon which falls at 2.15pm. There will be a global meditation tuning into the vibration of peace and oneness – let us build that energy.

What is The Wesak Tradition?

Tradition says: That at the exact moment of the Scorpio-Taurus full moon, (which is 2.15 pm on the 16th May 2022) the Buddha is said to return momentarily to earth, appearing to those gathered in a secluded Wesak valley in the Himalayas who are able to see him. Some have dreamt of being present at the ceremony. The Christ stands before the Buddha and, in a moment brimming with vitality and love, receives the Buddha’s blessing on behalf of humanity, before turning and radiating this blessing out to the assembled gathering and to all human beings.

The reality of Oneness

The Buddha has always been known as a great Revealer, rendering the mind as a “clear sheet of glass” in order to see the reality of Oneness – released from the pain of separation. His techniques of dispassion, detachment and discrimination help to sweep away all that veils and hinders recognition of this pure reality of oneness.
