A Return to Love – Ashtavakra Gita

Humanity is Suffering – We have forgotten our beauty

We live in a world of suffering. We have fallen for the illusion that we are separate and imperfect. Humanity has strayed far from True Loving Self-Awareness. Instead we have identified with a conditioned flawed ego body-mind. The ancient poetic writing in the  ‘Ashtavakra Gita – Heart of Awareness‘ points us lovingly back to the truth. A return to Love.

It cuts through all the mind and confusion and is a direct pointing to LOVE. During our Indian Pilgrimages we read from this beautifully loving text and contemplate the depth and beauty of its pointings.

Become Present to the Arising Moment

I often reflect on the dramas of the world, the ups and downs, the ins and outs of it. The struggles with impermanence. And the remedy once illusive, seems so clear here now.

REMEMBERING our true nature. By this I mean our purity before we are traumatised by this world of desire, expectation and judgement. Patterned to fit into a sick society – forgetting our sensitive, gentle, loving, openness to the natural world.

I AM…without anything following it. That deep present part of us that never changes, never ages. And as we become present to each arising moment we surrender to the unfolding universe ‘as it is’…peacefully.

Yet we are drawn back into the quagmire of patterned thinking again and again.

Suffering often comes down to ‘resistance to what is’. And the forgetting of our divine nature that abides here always – perfect – under the mask one mistakenly calls and identifies  with as me – my body – my ego-mind.

There is a global awakening taking place now – a remembering – and I find the ancient truth shared in this direct pointing to the heart in the Ashtavakra Gita is a wonderful reminder. For reminding we need! Until we don’t. These essential teachings of Advaita Vedanta or Oneness are found in the roots of all great philosophies, albeit often hidden beneath religious misinterpretations.

‘My father and I are One’   –     ‘Be Still & Know That I Am’

You are Pure. Nothing touches you.

What is there to renounce? Let it all go, The body and the mind.

Let yourself dissolve.  Like bubbles in the sea

All the worlds arise in you.
