Terry Oldfield Composer: an extraordinary life

 

Terry Oldfield Composer-Musician

English born Terry Oldfield is a self-taught composer-musician who has had a long and interesting musical career. His main instrument is the Flute which he came across while living on the rocks on the Island of Hydra in Greece.  Terry went on to compose film music with the BBC in the UK for over 80 productions and then as a New Age musician from the 1980’s until now. Terry lived through the heyday of Rock-n-Roll and has many stories to tell during this interview. From his travels as a backpacker in India to hanging out at the Manor in the early days of Virgin Records with Richard Branson and other greats.

The Oldfield Family

Terry’s sister singer-songwriter Sally Oldfield was famous in her own right and his younger brother Mike Oldfield a multi-instrumentalist became a mega star with the launch of Tubular Bells in 1973. The Oldfield family have offered many gifts of brilliance to the world of music.
