I have always had a love of poetry and music. It touches me and opens my heart in a way that is hard to describe, allowing a subtle connection with I that is tangible.

That when touched all else stops.

This is such a poem and the video below I discovered that goes with it. Someone has done a brilliant job of reciting the poem. I do hope it touches your heart too…

Notice that, in every path or religion, be it Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or Sufi, we will find a purity at its essence.. often lost in the interpretation of.

The Sufi Mystic Poet (1207 – 1273) Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, fondly known as Rumi is one of my favourite poets. Rumi brought through such clarity in his powerful message, which shines through in all his poetry…

This one: The poem titled in the video below as the poem that God whispered to Rumi is simply stunning. His words again point us inward toward the divine essence that I Am.

The Ocean and the Fish… Rumi 

Didn’t I tell you? Do not go there,

for I am your friend In this mirage of fading shadows,

I am life without end

Even if you run in anger for a hundred thousand years,

You will return to Me at last,

I am where the path clears Didn’t I tell you?

I am the Ocean, and you are the fish Don’t go to the dry land,

I am the only water you could wish Didn’t I tell you?

Don’t be fooled by the world’s design

I am the Painter of your joy, the Artist of the divine

Didn’t I tell you?

Do not fly like a bird to the snare Come back to Me,

I am your wings,

I am the power of the air Didn’t I tell you?

They will rob you and leave you cold – But I am the Fire,

the warmth of your soul, as I foretold If you are the lamp of the heart,

you know where to roam
