Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (or TRE®) is a simple yet innovative series of exercises. They’re designed to assist the body in releasing deep neurological and muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Trembling occurs naturally in life when our nervous system is over-activated for a good reason. It’s our miraculous body’s natural way of bringing the nervous system back into a calm and balanced state. TRE trauma release exercises activate this natural body response in order to calm the nervous system. We literally shake out tension by utilising this natural tendency to shake or tremor. Most people will feel relief from the first TRE session. When activated in a safe environment, this neurogenic muscular shaking or tremor mechanism literally shakes out tension.
